I'm working on the Old West on and off (as well as a few other things)but I am thinking about the Sudan, Napoleonics, Imaginations, etc. I just can't make up my mind (and should really finish what I am already working on!). What 54mm project are you thinking about?

kiwimole21 Jan 2013 9:52 p.m. PST

It will be a long time before I can get back to it but Western Skirmish has always been one of my favourite games. Seeing all the goodies available now in 28mm is tempting but I still think for skirmish (beer and pretzels) games I quite like 54mm. I have quite a bit of stuff already and while usable lots needs finishing. I just have too many other things on the go at present.

I have been collecting for 54mm Fanticide. Still looking for a good horse in a rampant pose without a saddle I can use as a Chaos-Unicorn.

I also have 54mm Aliens/Colonial Marines being painted slowly.

…and then there's the French and Indian War project… :)

Always adding to the Old West and making it Newer West by introducing a car, a tank etc. for early 1900 games. And having now got a copy of Funny Little Wars, increasing my 1900-ish armies. Also Australian colonial, and Muskets & Tomohawks forces.

Well, I have ongoing ones for the FIW and WWII. My new one would be the Northwest Frontier.

Thanks,

John

I am drawn to an Austrian army for Funny Little Wars, but tbh I haven't finished my Prussians yet although they are largely done.

Well, since it's the centenary of the publication of HG Wells, "Little Wars", I think I'll be refurbishing my old and battered Britains.

I have been killing myself getting our forthcoming 54mm ACW line ready for presentation. The line will launch by the end of January.

Ken--I'm looking forward to seeing that. I've got 450 plus 54mm ACW painted plastics.

Very like ATKM, we at TVAG are still awaiting the first samples spins of the first new range of our "Little Warriors" line of 54mm resin cast Japanese for c. 1900-1914.

The metal cast M1905 Hotchkiss MG and resin crew are finished, and samples painted. These can be seen, with some of the Japanese Staff Officers and new sculpts of Italians and other variations being readied for release now at link

We are so far behind our original release date(s) that I've all but given up setting them, but we hope to be able to announce the formal launch of at least the first wave in February.

The swords will need to be replace since they are a bit weedy, but the rest of the figures are very sturdy.

CorporalTrim22 Jan 2013 5:17 p.m. PST

That Japanese MG crew looks good.

CraigSpiel22 Jan 2013 5:46 p.m. PST

I need to add a few more Deetail figs to my ACW collection and my Battle Cry in 54mm will be good to go. As for picking up a brush – <<shudder>>

Recently finished four 20-man warbands with 20 civilians and lots of livestock for Pig Wars. Next project is AWI.

MacrossMartin27 Jan 2013 6:50 a.m. PST

My Army Red (all Dorset Soldiers castings) is rapidly approaching completion, having two 20 fig line battalions, a 15-strong force of Fusiliers, a pair of QF 13 pdrs, (only one limber and horse team so far,) two squadrons of horse (one of which are South Australian Lancers,) and – ahhh – THREE Britains' 4.7" Guns!

Just need HQ and Field Hospital figures now, along with more gun teams, and a battalion of Guards too, I think.

Then the Germans… O_o

I'd better get painting…

1943 Russians and Germans, for Crossfire rules, using 90% classic Airfix figures.

Atop my list are ACW figs from Ken at ATKM, followed by my remaining AWI and 1812 figures from him. Smaller projects are the "Magnificent 7" guys from Westin (not sure which rules to use as yet); and Conte Texians and Mexicans (again using ATKM rules).
