Hi. I played another small Hail Caesar game, romans vs. celts again, but teaching it to a few friends who don't normally play miniature wargames. Here are a few pics, but a full report is on my blog.

They had a lot of fun. Explaining the very basics of the rules only took a few minutes, and I could handle the math of bonuses, penalties, and charts on the fly so they could concentrate on giving orders and pushing lead. Still enjoying Hail Caesar quite a lot and looking forwards to games with four full divisions per side once I get enough figures painted.

Really nice looking armies! Hopefully they'll play more games.

Thanks,

John

Thanks all! I hope to get them back to the table soon :)

Enjoyed reading the narrative and looking at the pictures of the table.

I've had mixed success with HC. Perhaps this is a consequence of being a solo wargamer? HC certainly seems to be a more social set of rules. The "free wheeling" movement also takes some getting used to. Anyway.

Look forward to reading your next battle report.

I am just getting into HC. FOG seems to be the Ancients players the game of choice at The Source. FOG seems to this ancient a level of complexity especially after playing DBM for years and years. My DBM armies are all 15mm. A few of F OG players have some of my armies and they have been featured in FOG games at RECON.

PS, I live in Burnsville, MN.
