FW190D and the HE162

As I prefer the useless to the best my choice would have to be the Bolton Paul Defiant.

Cloudy21 Jan 2013 4:22 p.m. PST

My favorites would be:
P-47D
A-20G
Me-262A
Tempest
Il-2M

HE-219. Ugly but effective.

I think the He-219 is a thing of beauty.

Love it's futuristic looking cockpit, twin tails, and it's overall shape. It just looks like a nice, sleek hunter.

Boulton-Paul Defiant!
Great airplane, wrong role.

So many to chose from.. Dead heats in all:

Naval: F6F, SBD, and F4U.
Land Based: Fw 190D-9, P47D-25, late Spitfies
Twin Bombers: Ju 88, A20G, A26, B26

Big bombers: No contest- B29

I will have to split my list:

Fighters:
P51D. I love the sound of a Merlin in full cry.
FW190. I'm considering building a ~3/4 scale FW190, if I win the Lottery.
F4U Corsair. "The prop we need is too big, we can't make the landing gear strong enough! Bend the wing, we'll make it work."

Bombers:
B25H or J. Nothing says 'I love you' quite like 14 .50cals.
A26 Invader. Well, unless you can have 22 .50cals, all shooting forward!
Mossie. wonderfully fast, and very pretty.

Honorable Mention:
Catalina flying boat. If I could only own ONE warbird, I would have a PBY5A.
C47 'Gooney Bird'. Still flying, 75 years later!
