Here are some of my aircraft that I recently finished. The models are from Scotia Grendel, decals from Dom and I-94.

Where's the BP Defiants?

Just spotted them in the top photo… Favourite plane of the early war.

Nice stuff.

Are your stands Litko by any chance? And how have you managed to get the planes to bank/climb? Any chance of a photo of that bit of the stand?

Cheers,

B

Very good looking aircraft. I'm jealous as mine don't look anywhere near that good.

Wow awesome start!

Looks like an excellent start!

Thanks. Yes the stands are from Litko. The models have a ring magnet and ball bearing joint (Yank and Bank system) which you can see a bit better in the pic below. This is mostly for asthetics. Aircraft like the Bf110 are a little too heavy to mount this way.

That's quite a pharaonic work, and with such great detail and accuracy. Impressive "start of a collection", I have to repeat :)

How did you get that shine on the B-17? Paint, or polished original metal?

The B-17 was sanded down quite abit before painting with Tamiya Flat Aluminium. It has not been hit with any varnish yet.

Wow, it's shiny as hell. Looks great. I once spray-painted two P-38's with a Rust-Oleum beautiful metallic silver, but after the gloss cloat, the silver became almost a dull gray! Later I read that the instructions counter-recommended a top coat :(

Try in on some spare plane fisrt as a test!
