The first unit of Spanish Scutarri is complete for my Carthaginian army – these guys took a little extra time to paint since I hand-painted all of the shields but they never got boring due to the fantastic variety of poses.

All figures are from Relic Miniatures.

I love the pic of that unit from the rear. Did you only do two of your pictures under your cameras macro setting?

I really like the 'muted orange' colour on the shields. Was that straight from a bottle or did you have to mix it by hand?

Thanks everybody, I'm glad you like them.

@ RelliK: I didn't use any macro settings for any of the photos. All were taken with a Nikon D200. I can't remember the specific lens I used right now, but if you are interested let me know and I'll post it up.

@ ashill2: I really like the way the orange turned out as well. I used Vallejo Light Orange (70.911) right out of the bottle but I made sure to water it down a bit before using.

I'm loving those, great painting and the fairly naturalistic style of the minis.

Cheers, Simon

Good job on some nice figures – yet to paint mine. Handy in any number of armies, most likely as mercenaries fighting for Syracuse.

Very nice. Ancient Spanish are one of my favourite armies to paint.
