Neat-o! Thanks for posting, Armand. Last month I just read Spanish Tiger, which is a biography of Cabrera.

The man was kind of a monster, he certainly had reason to be upset with his opponents but he even did things like execute one of his mistresses. He seems to have not only ordered but carried out a number of atrocities himself.

Unlike a lot of people in his position he managed to live out his life in peace and died and was buried in quiet surroundings in England.

Certainly an interesting person.

As a country squire, after marrying an English heiress. He's buried in a churchyard in Virginia Water, and his home is now the clubhouse for the Wentworth Golf Club.
