Has anyone seen these? Will they be able to mix with Old Glory 15mm etc? Would be thrilled if they could be mixed.

I will be stocking them here at ScaleCreep.com but they are just due to leave the factory in the next week or so, so no one has them just yet….

It would be nice if they're good! I can't be arsed to look it up, but aren't those prices cheaper than they were offering 10mm?

79thPA Supporting Member of TMP10 Jan 2013 8:30 p.m. PST

I thought they went out of business. Have they dropped the pre-painted 10mm line?

John Leahy Sponsoring Member of TMP10 Jan 2013 8:33 p.m. PST

They are switching to 15mm.

Gunslinger10 Jan 2013 10:19 p.m. PST

I can't be sure, but I think there are less figures and those aren't painted, which might account for the lower price.

It is a shame they killed the 10mm line. I was thinking of buying some. I'll wait to see what the 15s look like.

6sided11 Jan 2013 3:42 a.m. PST

Can't see any photo's anywhere, which seems odd for a new range launch!

Hopefully there will be a UK stockist…..

Actually there is a pic on their facebook page.

If they are priced close to $35 USD in the UK (around £22.00 GBP) then they could be a real bonus!

They have not dropped the 10mm line yet. They are looking for a new manufacturer for the 10mm line, because the original decided to raise their cost by a large percentage. There might be other legal problems occurring considering the 10mm line.

Personal logo Extra Crispy Sponsoring Member of TMP11 Jan 2013 6:50 a.m. PST

When I asked about the 10mm, they indicated the problem was not manufacturing the figures, but the price/quality for the painting work. No "legal" problems were mentioned, but I didn't press much.

Incidentally, a Federal pack contains:

  • 20 Infantry with slouch hats advancing
  • 50 infantry with kepis advancing
  • 5 infantry captains
  • 4 artillery crewmen
  • 5 infantrymen with flagpoles
  • 5 cavalry riders with swords
  • 1 cavalry rider with flag pole
  • 1 Officer
  • 2 artillery guns
  • 7 horses
  • 20 pre-textured infantry movement trays
  • 3 pre-textured cavalry movement trays
  • 2 pre-textured artillery movement tray
  • 1 pre-textured officer movement tray

Just in time for Mustafa's new ruleset, "Longstreet".

Who asked this joker11 Jan 2013 9:51 a.m. PST

Just figures, there are about 99 counting horse and rider as two. So, it looks to be about 35 cents per figure which is quite good. On top of that you get some movement trays and two cannon. So I think the box sets are a great deal, especially when some figure companies are charging 50-60 cents per figure in 15mm.

I also hope they get the 10mm prepainted figures back online. I thought that was a fantastic idea for newcomers to the hobby as well as just pure gamers.

FYI, Blue Moon's ACW figures (much better sculpts) are .30 a figure if you have the Army Card.

Obviously, you have to buy the Army membership ($50 per year) but if you're planning a large purchase it's an option to consider.

Absolutely. But the Army only works if you buy in volume. You could go to warweb just as easily and maybe get 20% off at no extra cost to you. It's not 40% but you are not paying $50 USD either.

I like how the bases on these guys are thin so I can glue them down and sculpt them into a base. Dying to see a side by side with Old Glory. I think $35 USD for 100 figures is very reasonable. I just want to mix them with what I already have.

Anyone wargaming ACW in CT buzz me!!

Charlie 1211 Jan 2013 10:02 p.m. PST

They do look very nice. And the price is reasonable. Might have to rethink my switch to 6mm. In any case, I hope thry do well.

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER12 Jan 2013 1:40 p.m. PST

I thought the 10mm looked really good, but couldn't justify getting back into ACW after trading mine for Nappies. 20 pounds of them no less.

LightRail15 Jan 2013 7:51 a.m. PST

Hey Guys, this is Brian (Gordon & Hague) Thanks for the kind words regarding the new 15mm minis we have coming out shortly.

The 10mm line isnt dead, we just ran into issues with the factory in china that we used to work with. They were excellent for 2 years until they were acquired. We lost our rep that knew our product and process and then everything went down hill, and we had to sever ties with them.

the 15mm miniature line is made in the USA which we are super proud of.

Each box set comes with 100 miniatures and 26 movement trays. The trays come pre-textured and have indented 8mm slots so the figures drop right in. Its up to you whether or not you want to glue them into place or keep loose. The trays measure approx. 1 inch in frontage and 0.75 inch in depth so they should be pretty darn compatible most of the acw rule systems out there now. We will also be releasing our new rules which will be downloadable from our site, free of charge just like we did for the 10mm line.

Following the release of the 15mm unpainted sets will be a Premium range of pre-painted 15mms miniatures, so we are pretty excited about that. Expect this in mid-late march.

Thanks for the support guys, ill post more pics shortly to our FB page and keep everyone posted on our release dates as things have gotten a little pushed back here but not by much.

best,
Brian

Royal Marine15 Jan 2013 3:16 p.m. PST

Well done Brian, you are a credit to figure manufacturing. I remember a recent thread on TMP last year saying 15mm plastic would never happen … this is exciting stuff.

LightRail15 Jan 2013 5:04 p.m. PST

Thanks Dave, we are doing the best we can

UnfortunateWound17 Jan 2013 4:07 p.m. PST

If you find a UK distributor I'll certainly pick up a box… or six =p

HammerHead19 Jan 2013 12:14 a.m. PST

are they hard plastic figures?

Shootmenow19 Jan 2013 5:16 a.m. PST

I'd also definitely be very interested if you have a UK distributor, as would others at my club.

LightRail19 Jan 2013 6:23 a.m. PST

Thanks guys, Richard with Magister Militum in the UK will be carrying many of them in a few weeks. Ill make the official announcement once we start shipping out. They are hard plastic as well. thanks again

Musketier22 Jan 2013 7:38 a.m. PST

The 10mm line isnt dead, we just ran into issues

So will it become available again? Coinciding with the release of "Longstreet", or shortly thereafter, would seem like a good moment – especially as that seems timed to catch the Christmas market…

WARSTEPHEN23 Jan 2013 7:29 p.m. PST

ANY one seen the board game Valley of Death, which seems to be The Miniture game with Counters instead od 10 MM figures.

Royal Marine24 Jan 2013 7:48 a.m. PST

The board game also looks good, covering day 2 of Gettysburg.

@Brian (Gordon & Hague) will there be smaller packs to allow growth of the boxed sets?

HammerHead23 Feb 2013 2:55 a.m. PST

I did give Magister Miltum a call, and they are waiting stock, check their website in a weeks time.
can`t think why I want these, see all that i`ve yet to paint

Royal Marine23 Feb 2013 10:56 a.m. PST

'Want' never equates to 'Need'.

Pretty pictures, figures …. Want them!

UnfortunateWound23 Feb 2013 12:49 p.m. PST

I want to see some more pictures first, but there's a very high chance of me picking up a load of these.

mad monkey 104 Mar 2013 9:39 p.m. PST

Anybody got any of these yet?

Royal Marine08 Mar 2013 12:06 p.m. PST

Yeah, any 'Merikans Colonials got any of these yet? We can't get these yet in the old country.

Admiral Yi Sun Sin is my Homie04 Apr 2013 10:58 a.m. PST

I am just starting back into 15mm ACW* and am excited to learn about these plastics. Concerned there aren't any updates but I may have missed something.

Anyway, the Facebook page has a cryptic comment from March 30 "Some painted up plastic ACW 15s! Mass production starting next week" Not sure if the last sentence is about mass production of painted plastics or the boxed sets?

*I sold off my 15mm ACW and AWI about 10 years ago thinking I would concentrate on 28mm. Now I'm buying 15mm again. Note to self "Never sell anything!"

Corwin03 Jul 2016 8:29 a.m. PST

I have a massive amount of the 10mm which come up nicely with a quick wash and some flock on the bases – just did Picket's charge today at the Gauntlet show, 30 figs per regiment and 3-4 guns per game battery, looked great.

Brian – are you going to get any more 10mm done?
