Just curious to see what rules you all think would be good for "Justified" type encounters, skirmishes, and battles, with a genuine "Deputy U.S. Marshall"?

THW's rules are about the only ones that spring to mind.

I imagine there must be some others as well, that would permit that, including some sort of mini-campaign, or ongoing storyline as well.

A +1 for a set that will also permit "Miami Vice" type actions and encounters as well, and/or any others from the popular TV and movie police shows in modern times.

Thoughts?

CR 3.0 is the free, generic version of the rule system and should serve your needs.

You could use 5150: New Beginnings and reduce the sci-fi flavor, as it's almost geared for it.

.45 Adventure – built for Pulp but easy to tweak for the right flavor. Also, better for games with just 1 or 2 figures per player.

While I'm not a huge THW fan, they do have an excellent mechanic for ensuring the principle heroes and villains survive to the next encounter.

Great for representing TV and movies. Even if you don't want to use the THW rules, you can adapt and adopt the mechanic for whatever rules system you end up using.

There may be others that do that as well, but I haven't run into any yet.

Have you looked at GEEZERS! Shut It! from Killer B Games?

The inspiration is the very British Sweeney, but there' also a Vice Palms 1980s expansion.
