Good to see a BGMR AAR and interesting it was an 'exercise' |

Thanks Gennorm. We are looking forward for more AARs because of the BGMR campaign to our club on February. |

Nice report. How does BGMR compare to other rules like FFT, Spearhead Modern, or Cold War Commander? I have downloaded them, but have not had a chance to try them out. |

cfielitz, at first I think BGMR is more a simulation of modern warfare than a game. For BGMR a miniature of vehicle represents one real vehicle and a miniature base of infantry is a 5-10 real life soldiers. In comparison to MSH and CWC the rules are at first view a bit more complex (from the other hand more realistic) and at second view with your datasheets in your hands its easier than it looks. After 3-4 games this is all gone and you concentrate on your tactics and not to the rules. The choices of the army lists are almost endless and they represent armies from all over the world from 1946 to present. The (writing) order system and the communications system are my favorite. Finally I think that BGMR worth the try if you want to "feel" like a commander in a modern battlefield! |

The Germans should win: most of the French youth that were conscripts would not be so good, having spent most of the past year on strike, though the students might have a bonus for street fight! |

cfielitz, don't be put off by the size of the rules – they try to cover everything which is a lot! Start off with a company or two of tanks aside and then add other assets in subsequent games as familiarity grows. |

Thanks for the input. They folks at the Yahoo! Group site were very helpful when I asked them about stats for a particular IFV that wasn't on the list. I'll have to give them a try. |

Yeah that's true cfielitz. There is great support for the game (and more) from a lot of members (about 700 I think)
