I had a chance to paint and review my new set of Human Combat Medics from 15mm.Co.Uk.
The pack includes three medics with bags, cases, and other devices, along with a three-piece grav-litter set. It's a nice little group of figures, with lots of character and definite potential for scenarios. Full review (and a few comparison pics): link -Chris K. |

They look great and now that i have seen them close up the molded on red cross symbols are a nice added bonus i really like fine detail on my miniatures like this. A cool accompaniment to this set of figures would be the GZG flat bed hover truck that could easily be used as a field ambulance, and another bonus is the kit comes with 2x drivers one of which is more or less wearing the same uniform as these HOF medic's, now with a couple of 15mm resin tents you would have a nice looking MASH unit for your Hammer Slammers force. :) Im sorry about the triple post over on Dropship Horizon Chris my PC decided to have a fit just as i was posting. Thank you, Mr. Harold and Wofshanza. Zac – way ahead of you, buddy. Though I chose a Ravenstar Jackal instead of the GZG pickup.
Its fully enclosed body makes for a great ambulance, with just a bit of added details. The large cross on top was cut from gridded plasticard (turned upside down), the three smaller ones were simply cut from thick card. It's a good base vehicle for this role, and makes me want to come up with a few more conversions.
While painting, I learned that a fresh bottle of white paint is needed
my daughter's crayons would have covered more smoothly. I'll have to touch it up later. -Chris K. |

Another possibility for a battlefield ambulance would be the Outrider from Old Crow. |

Agreed – the Outrider would be a great option. On the Hammer's Slammers side – I can't remember any specific ambulances from the stories. But a modified command car would have plenty of capacity and protection. Other good candidates that come to mind (especially for near-future games) are the Combat Wombat Pitbull and the Khurasan Locust. Hm
I wonder if we could pester Khurasan for a Polecat light cargo/ambulance variant? Jon has some nice medic figures in his newer factions. Here's a full write-up of the ambulance, along with ideas for a small Medevac scenario: link -Chris K. |
