Having a few problems with my HP PSC 1317 printer not printing black correctly for home made decals.

Any advice gratefully received. I haven't progressed to adding any other detail yet until I have this resolved as I normally use dullcote and at this point I can still soak the decals off.

Is it too gray or is it too transparent?

Since it is a clear decal you may have to run it through the printer a couple times to get a good opaque base.

The problem is you have to be very careful about realigning the paper so it doesnt ghost on you.

When you print did you try selecting "Print only Black" in the printer properties. Won't be blue if you are only using black ink. Might be blue if you are trying to print black with coloured inks. Rob.

It comes out as dark blue on both white and clear decal paper but appears to be fine on standard white paper. I have cleaned out the print heads and probably thrown away a perfectly good inkjet cartridge. Could be time to move up to a colour Laser jet ;)
