As most of you know, we have been busy last month with a sale and finishing up our shows, holdiays, ect. The good news is we have some new armies coming out for Mighty Armies Fantasy (to be announced soon) and we have a new themed system coming out as well.

We are waiting on some new sculpts and a few scenarios proof reads but I should have more info soon.

We will be taking suggestions for Fall line up of armies now:

You may suggest armies for Fantasy and for Ancients.

Thanks!

You may as well do-up Splintered Light's Undead Egyptians as Undead NKE…

Probably not adopting the Mighty Armies system myself, but those beautiful minis sell themselves. 15mm Tomb Kings is totally doable now.

I don't have Ancients so I don't know what's in there but I would love to have Pictish and Scots-Irish to play with.

A cool Fantasy army would be an ogre force. It would be cool to have an army of big giant type dudes.

How about some Pirate ones to go with the book?

It's nice to see MA progress. Any chance some of the rules might see tweaks even if optional that several of us have discussed here last year?
Are you asking about armies to be created and released or simply army lists? If the latter I have a ton of suggestions! grin

Thanks,

John

Good Suggestions!
-David is already building the Undead army and a Pict army
- I have the the first Pirate Army at painters…

I like the idea of a Centaur army.. It would be fast :)

@John, Yes, I am trying to figure out a way to compile and present a "optional rules" pdf. More of an advanced players things.. I am open to suggestions :)

and yes, I'll take any army lists ya got. I am going to start collecting them and put them as a free download on the site.

Thanks guys!

Hi, been looking back through the threads on rules from this past summer. There seem to be consistent comments about changes to:

Bowfire. It is deadly! I think an easy change is a first hit causes disruption. That is a -1 to combat, saves, support, etc. and perhaps to movement. Units with Saves still make them. Movement I mention because slowing a single unit might break up a Battlegroup. This follows in line with my Disruption idea. Two disruptions equal a kill.

Flank attacks. As the rules currently stand flank attacks mean pretty little. Change would be to have the contacted unit being flanked turn to face its attacker and have a -1 to its combat factor. Only that unit is calculated for defense.

Monsters. I think there should be some Monster variants to provide more flavor.

Anything new on a New MA forum? I thought there was some talk about this a little while ago.

I think that tosses a few ideas into the discussion.

Thanks,

John

Finally! Kudos to you for this post!
I second HUBCommish and John Leahy's suggestions.
How about rewording the options list so that just the point costs and pre-requisites are listed? Remove any references of " free to …" but keep the traits listed in the basic lists.

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about further development! My sons and I like the rules. There are just some tweaks that we'd like to see to the rules. Plus all the new goodies in progress. My oldest son Sean and I were discussing building armies for it tonight.

Thanks,

John

@HUBCommish- Yes, we do. I know we have discussed this before but we will get to it. Davis is working on some of the Ancient Armies and lists, so I will check with him.

@John- I like the Bowfire idea. I think we will try and come up with an Optional rules sheet. It will be a free download and that way we can get harder testing in before we go to print. What do you think?

Flank- I like Flank the way it is now, but I see your point. Let me runs some scenarios with your idea and see what happens.

Monsters- David and I have been discussing this and I agree. For the base, quick system, the monsters design is simple.. but I have been thinking about a MA: Monsters "army book" to add more variety and designs for game play.

The Forum. I have been overwhemled with real life and shipping product, so I have not been able to get to this. I need a Rebel minis forum but I have to find the right one to use. The old Mighty Armies one needed a webmaster/tech guy and the guy that designed it has a life of his own, so in the end, I need something simple that I can control :) So, working on that!

@Capt Flash- can you give me an example?

Duck Crusader09 Jan 2013 11:33 a.m. PST

Centaurs in 15mm would be VERY welcome, especially some cataphract or even just regular heavy cav that'll scale well with Splintered Light's.

Assyrians, they're the best of the chariot armies, have loads and loads of auxiliaries and troop types, and lead themselves to fantasy bad guys as well with the addition of Lamassu and Gallu.

Sounds good to me about a free download.

I hear you about having the time.

If I can help you on any MA stuff just give me a shout.

Thanks,

John

Sure, I'll see about some re-wording. I'd be happy to help. Give me a couple of days since I've been getting a lot of overtime at my job.
*Not a complaint, mind you. I'm happy to get it! :)
