Anybody looked at stats for 40k in the latest TFL rules? Skimmed the rules once, and am wondering about tech levels. The Imperium especially is all over the place – all that high tech, but they have lost access to how it was created (there's a picture in the BFG rules of hundreds of men on a treadmill!) |

There is long discussion on the TFL Yahoo Group (back on 30 Dec) but I don't think anyone has actually done the work yet. |

I rate Marines T2 with some T3 stuff (plasma etc), still ironing the bugs out of my opromised take on them. Guard will be T1, Orks T1 with bits of T2, Eldar T3 etc. |

Forget that stuff, you are supposed to be stating out Daleks and U.N.I.T |

I don't bother with the Yahoo group. It gets too much traffic, so would be better for a forum, but most of them are against the idea. I hate Yahoo groups for high volume messages. However
UNIT and Daleks/Cybermen/Sontarans. Oh yes! |

Doesn't look too hard to convert most 40K stuff AFAICS, though the hivemind stuff of the Tyrranids and (to a lesser extent) Orks needs some Chrome buff. Marines are T3(R3) where R = runs by religious ritual. I'd also put Eldar at T4, after all sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from bling :-)

I've paged Robert Avery for you. |

And here I am! I'm afraid I don't know (or rather I've forgotten everything I used to know!) anything about the GW 40K Imperium and its enemies, so I can't really comment specifically, but I can say that having a mix of Tech Levels in the same 'army' is okay in Q13. The Garn, for example, I define as T3, but their Felid subjects are T2, and the Taureans T1. That said, Rapier's definitions look okay to me
although I like the idea of the space elves being T4! R |

Yeah, I'm looking forward to seeing all the fan made lists for these rules. I buy rules. But I generally wait a while to hear feedback and read reviews. I picked up Quadrant 13 with a few hours of there being announced. They were a must have! Very cool! Thanks, John |
