Here's a preview of the second set of zombie apocalypse survivors for our extremely popular Eaters of the Living range. This is a combination of modifications to the original models as well as new figures. Boy with big gun and even bigger hat, ex-police officer in hat with Python, and Marsha with pistol:
Rosie Lopez, Lauren as sniper, wearing the fisherman's hat, and the fisherman himself, wearing same!
Kyle with fire axe, Ahab the ex-soldier with military rifle, and Michelle with katana:
These, and the Zebra Kilo Team (special forces zombie killer team wearing full anti-zombie armour and using low recoil shotguns and machetes, inspired by a unit in Ambush Z), will be released just as soon as the caster gets the production sets to me. Further down the line -- American Police, then British Police, and then Survivor Warband Thugs with Improvised Weapons (think The Saviors -- some of you may know who I'm referring to). Further still -- The Buried, long-dead human corpses which have reanimated and dug themselves from their graves. For some reason, these virtual walking skeletons are faster and more far terrifying than the freshly dead, and more ravenously hungry too. Traveling in groups, the Buried are few in number, but are the most terrifying threat in the post-apocalyptic world -- even more so than other survivors. I am also considering having a zombie T. rex made, buried near the surface and having dug itself out of the earth. Yes, it's a stretch, but it's based on the fact that soft tissue has been found in some T. rex fossils. If it died in just the right conditions
. Thoughts on that? OTT? |

Bloody marvelous figures, but a T-rex would not be able to stay together without tendons and the like! |

I see them

Awesome. Definitely getting the pack(s) with the kid and the katana lady. A yes on the Zombie T-Rex – especially if you can get Mr. Lovejoy to sculpt it. The premise you provide makes sense to me. Also, wouldn't Mystri Island get caught up in any looming Apocalypse? :-) |

Need to get them done so I can order these! :) |

BlackWidowPilot | 04 Jan 2013 8:42 p.m. PST |
Jon, explain one thing to me; how did you get my Significantly Better Half to pose for the sculptor? The zombie slayer gal with the katana looks by all witness accounts like Sandra back in '03 when I was in a coma and the "brilliant" doctors at SUMC told her that they couldn't figure out what was killing me, and The Boss decided that she wasn't going to take their umpteeth "Uh, we don't know" for an answer
Ordered on sheer, fabulous principle alone. Leland R. Erickson Metal Express metal-express.net

Very nice set again there Jon. Looking forward to the British police. Finaly some one has bitten the bullet and started some non-US stuff! |
Scorpio | 05 Jan 2013 7:19 a.m. PST |
Good stuff. Looking forward to Zebra Kilo team for use as Umbrella Corp substitutes. |
khurasanminiatures | 05 Jan 2013 11:47 a.m. PST |
Actually Scorpio IIRC umbrella corp troopers look like swat guys, don't they? I've got two swat teams sculpted as well, though they are stuck in casting queue hell at the moment -- a team with assault rifles and a snatch team with clubs and riot shields (the newer round ones). They have gas masks on as you'd expect, because they will be using gas or other chemicals against their target. They have armour vests as well. These ZK team members I guess can be used for whatever, but they are specially adapted to fighting zombies -- they have much more complete body armour to minimise bite risk, and machetes for head-work when they are not using their weapons. They don't wear gas masks, using a big visored motorcycle-type helmet so the visor can usually be kept up for easy communication and better vision, but then it can be put down for close quarter combat and still offer decent vision (as opposed to the eye holes on a gas mask). They also have military shotguns with large clips, except the team leader, who is using a pistol with his shotgun on his back. Look out zeds, these guys mean business. And on top of that they are special forces (SEALs, SAS, etc) so no one to mess with even if you are in a raider in a survivor warband. |

Wow seems like a dream list is sitting in that que!!! Looks like you and your sculpters have been VERY busy. Happy bunny |

Looking forward to the British police. Finaly some one has bitten the bullet and started some non-US stuff! You mean we're going to get my two favorite very British cops in 15mm at last?
Oh, evil hearts be still!

Actually two of the male poses will not have their hats on so they may well end up looking like those, but there won't be any chubby ones. Like in the US police pack, there will be two males with hats on, two with hats off, one female with hat on, and one with hat off. By the way, here are the US police greens:

Looking forward to all the survivors you mention. I'll have to see the "dead who crawled back up" to make my decision on that
my Apocalypse is pretty mundane as zombie apocalypses go
think World War Z (the novel, not the Brad Pitt travesty) or Walking Dead (TV, Comic, and novels), but I happily included the Mystri Island zombies in my hoard with their garments painted as shredded hospital gown type things. I'll leave the zombie non-humans for other folks, although would like to see more dinosaurs of the non-zombie variety to use with "Lost Lands." I love that your survivors are armed with fairly mundane weapons and look forward to more armed with things an average citizen can obtain,
hunting rifles, shotguns, handgus, axes, bats, knives, machetes, or improvised weapons. I'd also like to see some themed as gangs. You mentioned the saviors
also would love to see the "Vatos" or the Governor's men. Another thing I don't think anyone has tapped into yet are the Amish
if you want to talk about folks who would know how to survive when the lights went out
I would also love to see more zombie sculpts
the ones you have are the best I've seen in 15mm, but for variety I'd like some dressed in pajamas, hospital gowns, and things people wear when they're sick and in bed
to represent those early victims of "African Rabies" who died at home in bed or in hospital rooms. |
