The vast majority of my painting these days is commission work so how much I paint in a given year is fairly important to me. In 2011 my number of 185 miniatures painting. 2012 is somewhere between 190 and 200. Not bad considering I have 2 days a week that I can devote to painting. I do paint the majority of those days – usually getting some painting done on holidays and such.

Here's a look at most of the models I painted in 2012:

497 total across all scales and includes terrain pieces made.

waaslandwarrior04 Jan 2013 9:43 a.m. PST

135 28mm miniatures and 2 medium sized terrain pieces.

Better then last year, but it has been better once. That was several years ago…

richarDISNEY04 Jan 2013 9:49 a.m. PST

Quite a bit, but I have not actual numbers.
I did a lot of new moderns in 28mm…

I think I did more than 1000 miniatures, all 28 mm

Shark Six Three Zero04 Jan 2013 9:53 a.m. PST

28mm figures I did 240
20mm figures I did 96

i also did terrain tiles to cover a 4x12 table and hills.

And about 10 middle eastern buildings.

A couple of 100 28mm figures; I must keep a record this year just so I know what I have done (3 minis so far this year, but such industry soon falls by the wayside)!

Hmm, I was in a painting doldrum most of the year and I'm not sure of totals for the year, but I did paint almost 50 Pulp type figures over the last month.

richarDISNEY04 Jan 2013 11:29 a.m. PST

Thinking about it, over 300 28mm moderns…

Very little of anything else.

Nowhere near enough….

Greenfield Games04 Jan 2013 11:44 a.m. PST

Holy cow! Some of you are far more prolific than I.

Giles the Zog04 Jan 2013 11:48 a.m. PST

Funnily enough I drafted a posting for my blog about this – just over 900 (equivalent) of figures painted. To wargaming standard, a few better.

Several months without painting resulted in a measly 44 painted last year. On the up side, I bought less than 44, so at least the lead pile is getting smaller…

Something over 1100. Half and half 15s and 28s. I've averaged less than three a day only once in the last 20 years. Some years I'll average 4 a day if they are mostly 15s and once over 5 a day.

Sad, I know.

It was a very busy year with work. Making a point to paint about an hour per night in 2013. No less, maybe more. Found a series of Milton Friedman lectures to time the sessions.

About a 100 28s. Got off to a good start in 2013 – two dozen 28s and my first ever unit of 10s – and a dragon.

Ivan DBA04 Jan 2013 5:34 p.m. PST

6 x 28mm figs
50 x 15mm figs
Approximately 180 10mm figs or equivalent strips.

Not much. But between work, chores, and my two-year old, I can usually paint for only an hour or two late at night, and many nights I'm too tired.

TwinCities Gamer04 Jan 2013 6:53 p.m. PST

1,453 figs for 6 ancient and medieval armies in 15mm.

I keep a running total by troop type, army and scale. It's a little bit compulsive but then, so is painting. ;-)

SECURITY MINISTER CRITTER04 Jan 2013 9:02 p.m. PST

I painted exactly 24 15 mm Hoplites last year.

Meiczyslaw04 Jan 2013 11:08 p.m. PST

I had kind of a dull 2012, and then painted most of the SDE kobolds and a couple of the heroes. Not a huge output, but a major increase over the previous year, when I was considering unloading my collection.

TamsinP05 Jan 2013 1:03 a.m. PST

15mm mounted: 407 figures
15mm foot: 414 figures
15mm artillery: 6 guns
15mm horses: 76*
28mm foot: 46
plus various figures for my army camps and ambush markers.

* 60 horses for my remaining Sarmatian lancers and 16 riderless horses for my 30YW dragoons.

Detailed breakdown here: link

Grelber05 Jan 2013 9:06 a.m. PST

201 humans and 6 horses. Unfortunately, I bought 286 humans and 7 horses.

The figures I ordered at the end of November still haven't arrived, so they'll no doubt count against my 2013 totals, I was planning to paint more and buy less this year. Five days in, and I think it is already shaping up to be a bad year.

I quite surprised myself last year. I painted up

2371 15mm figures
40 20mm figures
41 25mm figures
and around 14 buildings.

I score a points system for myself of 1 point per 15-28mm model, double for cavalry or 54mm models, 1/3 for 10mm and 1/5 for smaller. Vhicles being scored relative to effort (yes, I work with stats!)

On that basis I had an aim of thirty points per month, and actually managed about 650 over the course of the year. Totalling at least 500 individual models/miniatures…
