In the Prussian army, the Zimmermann (carpenter, plural: Zimmerleute) had been abolished in 1788, but was reintroduced in 1796. From that year, until 1808, there were 2 of them in every company of musketeers or grenadiers, but they were always on leave, except, obviously, on mobilisation.
The had the regimental uniform (in 1805, in regiment Chlebowsky [IR 60] all had hats, also those in the grenadier companies), axes of a better pattern than before 1788, aprons. Sabers, but no muskets, nor cartride pouches.
An expertise of 1796 on the aprons proposed them to be high up in the front, and about one hand's width below the knees. On 23 October 1796, the king approved this.

I don't know any contemporary image of a regimental carpenter between 1796 and 1807 (which doesn't mean there isn't any).
