Hi, has anyone tried this conversion? Either Catachan or Cadian arms on WH beastmen? Do they fit well?

Wanted to make some cult I.G. figures for my Chaos force.

Cheers.

Only some of the beastmen torso work without a bit of conversion work. The beastmen for the most part are thrusting out their chests. The guard arms are of course designed to meet up so both hands are on the rifle. So these two designs are counter productive to each other. But it can be done (use the catachan arms, the cadians have sleeves for their jackets), just takes time and effort.

I think there have been some new sculpts for the beastmen since I tried this though, so my comments might not hold true anymore. My last attempt was about 5 or 6 years ago.

Hi UK,

As an alternate suggestion, ready made scifi beastmen.

Its been years since I created these figures, my blog notes tell me I used the lower half of the WFB Ungor with the Cadian torso & arms.

Following up on Ran The Cid's work, that's the best way to gun-up the beastmen, a torso swap. A very good conversion I've seen, but can't find right now, was using Chaos Space Marine torsos, arms (no shoulder pads!) and weapons, with various backpacks. Gave a very nice impression of a 'chaos' force.

Also, have a look at Eastern Empire:

Although I love the Phagon figures, they'll be puny next to the current GW Super-heroic Scale figures.

If you do a google search on Beastmen Imperial Guard, you gets LOADS of conversions and tutorials.

I really like the guard body/arms with beastmen legs & heads.

Yes, beastmen and guns always works well.

They are meant to be shoty :)

Although I may make an assault squad with bolt pistols, chainswords and axes.

:D
