Shapeways is now offering a model of the Vickers Valiant jet bomber in 1/285 scale. I got mine in polished WSF (white, strong, and flexible) material, which should save a little time on preparation. The leading edges of the wings and vertical stabilizer are a little flat, but other than that it's a fine rendering, complete with underwing fuel tanks. Along with their earlier release of the Handley Page Victor and Corgi's Vulcan, you can now have a complete collection of V-bombers.

I would be interested if in 1/600 scale.

Try contacting Prairie Hawk Gamers. They may be able to downsize it for you. If you haven't explored the Shapeways website before, find the model and click on "contact the designer" (or something like that). Good luck!

Nice but $31 USD for WSF or $66 USD from FUD is a lot of money!

There's no denying that Shapeways' Valiant model is expensive, no matter what material you choose. (This appears to be true for any of their larger airplanes.) Fortunately, I'm a collector rather than a gamer, so I only needed one to satisfy my need. If you decide to get one, I recommend polished WSF. It's got a smooth finish and only costs a little more than basic WSF.
