Are people playing X-Wing using the Star Wars plastic collectible miniatures from Wizards of the Coast? Just wondering if I should dig mine out and see if anyone has a use for them. |

I don't see a reason they couldn't work. You would just have to base them on a square base of the appropriate size so that movement works out correctly. That being said, I'm not using them. They aren't of the same quality and they are a bit smaller. |

I'm using a few A Wings, other than that I've found the old Micro Machines ships to make excellent proxies. |

I'm planning on using the Micro Machines and in a larger version my Action Fleet fighters. I bought a load of then 10-15 years ago. Thanks, John |

Been considering using these, and trying to simplify the X-Wing rules for larger battles with capital ships. Not sure how much I can chop and still have a recognizable X-Wing game. Capital ships would be more like terrain pieces that would fire mainly at each other, with some precision strikes against them by fighters. One of the sticking points for me is that to make the 'scale' seem at all realistic, fighters would have to represent a small squadron, but a lot of X-Wing only makes sense in the context of individual ships. I may just say to heck with it, and say an X-Wing may represent 1-4 ships, but treat it as a single 'super-fighter'. |

New base sizes coming soon but we have the standard ones available now. link BTW You will also need to buy mounts and rods so don't forget those. Watch the video for more info on the system. youtu.be/9-_USHrKKG4
Conversion tutorial here: link Larger bases, Shuttle Bases, and mine tokens are in the pipe line. This week maybe. Still clearing the holiday order backlog. |

No, though you can't tell me the SWSSB A-Wing isn't more true-to-scale than the FF one. I sold all my (other) SWSSB minis off around the time X-Wing came out. But I also use Micro Machines extensively. The X-wings are spot on (odd considering MM's were only ever scaled to fit the pack), and Y-wings are the same size, but a bit differently proportioned. I wish the TIE's were more true-proportioned, I am not sure I will use them, but will probably break down and do it anyway to bulk out the numbers. |

With micro-machines and SSB ships in fair abundance, hard to imagine a large cry for the constructable ships. Always a bit fiddly and less than esthetically pleasing to my mind. I'd be interested to hear of anyone that DOES like them for proxy-ing. Doug |
