Was looking for some more input on my other thread TMP link and went to Wargames Factory's facebook and saw THIS!

Wargames factory is making survivors! I have a lot of hope for this, and now a pile of spare bits from whatever I don't end up using from the 28mm US guys.

Depending on what the sprues look like I m hoping for armed civilians to put into a LOT of different games.

Admittedly this guy looks like he's pooping his pants while yelling… But I can forgive this. He's dressed like R Lee Earmy and firing a grenade launcher. That's likely to make me scream and poop simultaneously too…

I think I would have gone with a Boy Scout Scoutmaster paint job. "I've got yer merit badge right here"

Sloppypainter01 Jan 2013 2:04 p.m. PST

These are gonna be great!

Little Big Wars01 Jan 2013 4:15 p.m. PST

Kind of reminds me of Bruce Campbell…

iceaxe01 Jan 2013 4:24 p.m. PST

Hmmm – I suggested those back in the early days when you could suggest & vote on the suggested figures, and there was a few sprues in it for the nominator. Bet I don't get any!

Mako1101 Jan 2013 4:32 p.m. PST

Darn, I was hoping for those barely clad, bikini wearing ones, from the game TV show……

BigNickR01 Jan 2013 4:33 p.m. PST

I met a wargames factory guy at either hurricon or recon (one of the HMGS shows) this last year… Seemed pretty fly. Gave me a bunch of freebies with my purchase. (pursians and horse sprues. the stuff they have for cheap in their "bone yard")

Mention it to 'em in an email. worst thing that happens is they say no.

But if they DO give you sprues… share some pictures!

And give them some credit for sending them to you.

In best Mr. Burns voice, "Excellent!"

iceaxe01 Jan 2013 4:59 p.m. PST

Just being a grump. I'm more interested in the fact that someone is finally making some.

Augustus01 Jan 2013 7:07 p.m. PST

Hmm depending on how this goes, these would be really useful for SUPERs games.

When can I buy them!

ordinarybass02 Jan 2013 10:35 a.m. PST

Hmm looks interesting. I remember being rather engaged in the discussion around these figures. A few years ago. I think we called them "armed civilians".

I hope they put the weapons on separate sprues. Separate purchasable plastic weapons sprues was one of the biggest requests IIRC.

I'll probably pick up a box of these just to have lots of parts for converting post-apoc figures.

Amalric02 Jan 2013 2:08 p.m. PST

Well looking at how the hands do not appear to be gripping the grenade launcher's handles, I'll guess that the weapons are separate.

ordinarybass02 Jan 2013 4:11 p.m. PST

I'm mean are the weapons on separate sprues from the figure sprues? In some of their kits the weapons -or a portion of the weapons- are on separate sprues. IIRC, until the change of ownership, there were more (now there is only the numidian) weapons sprues available. I don't know if this is just policy or perhaps the product is packed in China?

I'd love to be able to pick up the weapon sprues from their WW2 line separately.

I think that figure is based on Rick the main character from the AMC TV series The Walking Dead (in remnanats of his County Sherrif's uniform)– not sure where he got the M-32 grenade launcher or where he'll find more ammo – but for now he is one seriously packin' mofo!

Amalric03 Jan 2013 12:36 p.m. PST

Ordinarybass, check out hoard of bits on eBay for the weapon bits cheap. I have purchased bits many times there with great results.

Dsfrank, I agree it looks like Rick with a big bada boom.

Oh I just had a thought, cheap plastic modern weapon bits!

HammerHead03 Jan 2013 1:37 p.m. PST

iceaxe, someone said they suggested the zombie vixens some time ago, they received due recognition. Just e-mail them a reminder. A lot of things have changed at WF since your L&U post.
Looking forward to these

BigNickR03 Jan 2013 6:04 p.m. PST

I have a spare sprue of the WWII americans I'm not going to use, (going to make an almost entirely BAR and GARAND platoon) plus a decent number of greasegun and tommygun arms… As well as some spares from the Germans set I did a while back.

PM me if you want to swap stuff

CAPTAIN BEEFHEART05 Jan 2013 10:48 a.m. PST

I can't wait for a shot of the sprues to see the choices that are available.
