Happy New Year. Looking for as it says man to man skirmish, rules which i can use for Boxer or Zulu or Bedouin areas, but have the fun still in them, fist fights, jumping off roofs, throwing dynamite, that sort of stuff.

Maybe 6 a side no more than say 12, but plenty of fun. If no 54mm rules what rules could i use and how??

Again many thanks.

There were some rules put out a few decdades ago that covered this pretty well ? One set for colonial and one for wild west. They covered all the weapons of the time along with reload times, etc. You ran about 6-8 figures per person.Colonial rules or something like that ? If I can find them, I'll post it here ?

We (Skirmish Wargames) have our own set of skirmish rules Tales of Derring Do (TODD) which might fit the bill. The focus is on characterisation and provide for a character to attempt do just about anything they in the way of Heroic Stunts. They cover all periods, and give guideline ideas of the characters which fit each.

The aim is that they work for 'serious', ie strictly historically accurate, games and the more tongue-in-cheek Hollywood influenced ones too.

I will happily send them to you as a Word document attached to an email.

Mike, I would be very interested in these rules. I have begun to purchase 54mm napoleonic figures and would love a rule set like yours. Please send to braatenk@msn.com. Troy

Sorry for coming late to the party. Mike, I am collecting 54mm Plains Wars, Maximilian Adventure, Indian Mutiny and Napoleonic figures and would love to try your rules.

Thank you very much!

Hi Mike

How do these rules compare with the original SW skirmish rules (Flintlock & Ramrod, Colonial & Old West)?

From one who is old enough to still have very dog-eared copies of all three, and who remembers the Steve Curtis Memorial games which were such a highlight of the early 'Armageddon' shows all those years ago.
