I like on the Osprey link how Jason wears a an archaic helmet and bell cuirass instead of the usual Classical panoply. The heroic myths date from the Bronze Age so it is cool to see them in Homeric gear.

I think they might be going for the history behind the tale…or at least…framing the tale with a historically "correct" backdrop. Could be worth a read.

The harpies had beards?

Uhmm… thats not a harpie dude thats one of the Argonauts, there were two that had wings, they were sons of one of the Greek demi gods, notice there is another standing wearing a greek helmet and he has wings also, Mythology is awesome…

Well, they certainly didn't have wings in the Harryhausen movie!

The book is not for sale yet.
I believe it will be in march or april 2013.

Well I'll say this. The Arthur book is written by a Daniel Mersey. If this is the same guy then it should be quite good. He wrote both The Glutter of Ravens and Dux Bellorum rules sets. He knows his stuff and he's a good writer.

If the other books have similar writers then this should be a rip-snorting good series!

Great catch good doctor! I didn't even know about these books.

And this is why I like Tango's posts; I would have missed this completely. Thanks for the info!
