It is impressive, but ignores an historical fact. All the cadre for this unit was from the Old Guard, and wore their Old Guard uniforms, including bearskin caps. That would be all NCO's and officers.

That might be so for the initial campaigns of the Fusiliers (1806-1807) but likely by the Austrian campaign the bearskins at least were no longer in use by Fusilier NCOs and officers. The new Young Guard (i.e. the Tirailleurs and Voltigeurs) would likely have had a greater preponderance of bearskin wearers initially than the Fusiliers by 1809.
