You can ignore the bad acting and the cheesy soundtrack (I muted it, and it was much better), there's some really good CGI in there.

The clip is from a Japanese mini-series set during the Meiji
Era called Cloud Above the Slope. And the 4 min clip is the only naval action in the series.

I am impressed by the volume of smoke coming from the stacks. That seems very realistic to me.

Hi The moive is a NHK Special Drama Saka No Ue No Kumo Dai dvd.I think there is a five dvd set or you can get just one vol.for less. you can get it at Amazon.com. Hope this helps
