I've yet to find any of these models locally, can anyone tell me what scale they believe these are? Do they look like they could be piloted by 6mm figures?

This picture from Jay's Wargaming Madness has piqued my interest.

Their scale is 1/270, so they will work with 6mm figures.

Jeff, Cool Stuff has cheap prices. coolstuffinc.com

As CPBelt their scale is 1/270, and it's not a guess, that's the official manufacturer scale. They should work ok with 6mm.

The models pictured are from the Star Wars X-Wing Miniatures Game, which we've been discussing on TMP for at least a year. (Take a look at the Star Wars board— it dominates the threads there). The game has been available since the fall of this year (even at Target), but the particular models pictured— The Millenium Falcon, Slave 1, the TIE Interceptor, and the A-Wing— are part of a series of expansion packs that are not due to be released until February. Some wargames retailers have demo models they will sell at a bit of a premium— check around if you can't wait.

The game is 30% off at Target today, so is nicely discounted. Comes to $28 USD, plus tax, instead of the usual $40. USD

You can get it a little cheaper on-line, but may have to pay for shipping, and obviously wait for delivery, so going to the store is a decent option. That way, you get to make sure you get decent minis too, since some look a bit wonky, e.g. non-parallel solar panels, bent lasers on the X-Wings, engines or wings on the X-Wings not straight, etc.

Recommended, if you can find a decent package.

Haven't missed it. In my OP I said I have YET to find them locally. grin My question was how well they would fit with 6mm models.

Thanks for the info CPBelt and Mako!

6mm = 1/300-1/285 so Yes they should fit nicely.

While Target discounted, we were having difficulties getting any copies for our FLGS. Thanks, FFG.

So, wargamer1972, do you have micro-armor SW (not seen any, but not my usual scale) to use with these? I'm intrigued why you want to match 6mm.
