Researching options for collecting a small affordable Praetorian Guard force. As opposed to paying the ungodly Ebay prices for the originals, can anyone suggest some substitute options? Im assuming VSF or converting Wargames Factory Brits would be the best way to go? I welcome all input. Cheers. U.K. |

GW could make a lot of money by putting these guys back out. But they would rather just increase the prices on their normal stuff. Could also make a lot of money by bringing back the Squats. But we are talking about GW and doing the smart thing is not something they are known for. |

I've thought about just using the heads from my Wargames Factory Zulu War British. I'd just add the pith helmet head to the regular Cadian body and paint the mini in Zulu War British colours. I'd paint the helmet, body armour & whatever gear I wanted to use (grenades, canteen, knife etc.) off-white, red tunic, blue pants & grey/black boots. You can buy cheap boxes of WF Zulu War Brits from Miniature Market. You could also follow Jason O Mahony's suggestion and buy what you need from Victoria Lamb. Her stuff looks great and the price isn't ridiculous. I don't like the lasguns that Lamb has on offer but I'm picky, also, I have everything I need to try my simple head-swop & paint plan. |

I've seen GW arms added to WF bodies and it doesn't look right IMHO. Arms are way too stocky. I'd go with Charles Marlow's idea and just use head swaps on Cadians. You could go to town adding just the weapons to WF arms but that would be a lot of work, especially for the support weapons. |

A.B, any idea which heads from the above list fit best with Cadian bodies? |
CHANTYAM | 24 Dec 2012 4:54 a.m. PST |
uk-for sure the Victoria Lamb and Curious Constructs (because I have them and I think Secret Weapon because Robs the bloke behind Curious Constructs and I think he did thiers). The Empress ones I think are more "true" in the scaling so would be small on a Cadian Torso. |
