I used to do my reserve duty at building a block away from it. They renovated and expanded it a couple of years ago, especially the WWII and later exhibits. While still not huge, it's a real gem of a museum. Plus they have a WWI naval railroad gun on display across the street.

I have been to the Navy Yard many times, it is one of my favorite places to take out-of-town visitors (of a certain type). Convenient to the Metro and very interesting.

Tango – If you ever make it to Washington DC, you have an open ended offer for a grand tour of the sites.

Visited with Marl Campbell of "Close Action" fame a few years back, and an excellent visit it was too. More successful than my earlier visit where I wasn't allowed in as I was an "alien"

Used to work at the Navy Yard, but I don't remember these displays. Loved the gatling gun though.
