It looks like my Falcon:

Is pretty damn close to the "Official" one!

Yeap I measured the Revelle one and the stats off FFG forum. Thier's is 4 by 5 inches and the Revelle one is about 3 1/2 inches by 4 inches. Very close.

The Revell one is close, the AMT/ERTL one is much closer – 4" by 5.5"

But the 'official' Falcon's base is HUGE. Makes crossing a table REALLY fast…
And it causes a lot more 'crossing of bases'.

Yup, plan on revising my base to match (And print out replacement cards)

Apparently the base is 80mm square.

CorSecEng20 Dec 2012 5:37 p.m. PST

Close to 80mm. After Christmas we will be adding a compatible base. I totally forgot to measure the inside circle for the cardboard insert. I have to catchup with the guy who one it at the local kessel event.

CorSecEng, I'll order two (One for the Falcon and One for my Rebel Freighter) When your Starmats are back available.

The Revell kit is close enough for me, especially since the "official" length of the Falcon has wandered all over the place in 35 years anyway. The model works out to 1/316 if you take 35 m as the length of the Falcon. But more importantly the cockpit width which is the only real point of reference is pretty much spot on for a 1/270.

Here's mine:

CorSec, totally looking forward to those bases. I picked up a bunch of Falcons on the cheap and plan on painting them up. They will need those bases!
