I've started up a forum for anyone who still plays or would like to play oop GW games, particularly from the 80's and 90's. The forum is here – link – and all are welcome :)

I'm assuming you already know about this one:

Not that I'm saying there should be only one…

Nice one, Ben. I'll stop by at some point I'm sure.

Interested in 3rd ed Warhammer, 2nd ed Talisman (just for the Gary Chalk art), 2nd ed 40k and Epic (NetEpic now).

Chuckaroobob19 Dec 2012 7:00 p.m. PST

Gee whiz, played 3rd ed twice in the past 2 weeks, first time since whenever 4th came out. Maybe its a trend. Just remember cannon should be 500 points each.

This is the way forward – There is no "GW hobby" – we are the hobbyists, we get to decide which figures we use and which edition of the rules we want to play !
I remember when Warhammer first came out how they said the only limit was our imagination – How the tune has changed !

OK Ben, I joined… Think we might need to do a little bit of 'word spreading though'… it's a bit thin on the ground ;-)

@Space Wizard

I didn't know about it at the time I set the board up else I probably wouldn't have. I don't intend it to be a rival to it and would be happy to let it die if it's redundant but now it's got a few members I'll start trying to put some content on it and give it push to see if anything happens.

Thanks for the mention on the podcast, Henry :). It was a bit unusual to hear my name out of the blue when I was listening to it lol.

Games Workshop has currently managed to take the gaming out of the workshop! I used to frequent their shops & products but no more.

… & don't get me started on using the name 'Space Marine'. I'm off to write an independent novel about them …
