Already targeted ;) Not that different to Russian BA-3's & 6's, although entirely Spanish made. They were built on chassis of the Chevrolet 1937 truck produced in Barcelona under US license. There's some funny story about them, BTW. A good number of them crossed north the Pyrenees at the end of Catalonia campaign, fleeing from Spanish Nationalists.
There, they were requisitioned and incorporated into the French Army --with the expectable results you can easily imagine after the Fall of France, one year later:
Some of them, if not all, were sent to the Eastern Front. Can you guess the expression on these Russian soldiers face after meeting one such AFVs? link Not that strange. Such is the perennial story of exilés everywhere. |
