I'm not anxious or anything but it looks like good fun.

Johnny Depp playing an American Indian? Why didn't they just get an American Indian actor instead?

Because we know what Tonto means and do not wish to be called that! *evi grin*

Good news that Johnny D is in it – that means my wife'll come to watch it with me…

Doug
ps – why isn't this on the "Movies" board?

Saw it today before THE HOBBIT. I literally grew up (partways!) listening to LR on radio -- born in 1946, no television until 1951 or so, but weekly radio from age 3 or so, mostly with my grandfather. The original super-hero. Looks excellent.

Doug… I'm to lazy to post twice the same thread because you cannot crossport to Movie or broadcast from "regular" boards.
So, I choose the Old West one.
Sorry for that.

Tango – you are not alone….! There are many Hobbit posts on the main boards. I just wonder why we have things like the movie board. It just complicates things.

I saw the trailer and thought if the trailer is this bad, the movie must be worse. You usually show the good parts of a movie in atrailer not the worst. Anyway I have no desire now to see it. Just another loud action movie.

Wow. I think I'll have to see this movie. Thanks, Tango.

"Johnny Depp playing an American Indian?"

Apparently he has some Native American roots in his lineage. He certainly LOOKS the part. But even if he didn't have NA ancestors, isn't that what ACTING is all about-- being something you aren't?

I am really happy he's in it. He's a fabulous character actor.
