TMP member Deathwing is working on a post-apocalyptic ruleset, and my local club volunteered to playtest it for him. It worked out pretty well! You can tell this thing is very close to a commercial release. Not too many gaping holes in the rules, etc. Here's our first playtest report: link

And here are some pics from the game:

Holy poop that mutant thing is the stuff of nightmares!

Agreed. Brrr.

What are the rest of the figs – and what IS that…thing?

Deathwing14 Dec 2012 12:56 p.m. PST

Great write-up. Is the "thing" being used as a K-9?

PatrickWR14 Dec 2012 1:58 p.m. PST

Yes, we ran it as a K-9! The miniature is actually a plastic kids toy from a big ol' bag of random monsters. Tim painted and based it but otherwise didn't do any other conversion work.

My figures are Kolony Ferals by Pig Iron Productions. The melee-armed guys are Mantic Ghouls with Pig Iron heads.

Tim's guys are a mix of Vor, Warmachine and Warzone figures.

Thanks for the report. It sounds like TINAT has some promise.

I think the game does have strong potential.

The game mechanics sound very interesting. Really like the activation sequencing, and the idea of shooting effects being indeterminate for a brief span is really neat. Bet people agonize about whether to overkill or not.

Rich, yes, that's exactly what happened! It was particularly cool.

Example: "Do you think that 1 hit from a heavy machinegun is enough to kill the big bad leader? Maybe not? Better shoot at him with three more guys to be sure!"
