link Last night Peter and I played the above battle. It was a belter, but this is the last time I'm going to fight this particular battle for quite some time.

Great report and photos. The French seemed very particular. That was funny. Cheers, |

Good looking figures and game! What rules were used? |

The rules are a work in progress. They are based on Piquet's Field of Battle and my own Ager Sanguinis / Ager Proelii rules |

Informative and enjoyable as always. Do you think the Spanish downgrade was the important factor in losing the battle? |

Do you think the Spanish downgrade was the important factor in losing the battle? Yep. Though I also made the mistake of not trying to prevent the Swiss from crossing the ditch with 'down modified' fire effect in their move phase; instead I was greedy and tried to hit them after they had crossed at full effect in my phase – BIG MISTAKE. It was an extremely close run thing though. The Landsknechts were holding the Swiss well, and actually succeeded in throwing them back across ditch, but they lost Fabricio just before running out of morale chips and failed an army morale test due to it – they rolled a 1 and lost 3 UI, routing them. |

Fine report. I agree with your estimation that artillery classification between medium and heavy is irrelevant for field battles – the only difference would be if they fight upon field fortifications, and I fail to remember any engagements where this played a significant role. |

LOL, mirrors my experience with one of my mates: Peter has won; again; B&@£#%, I tried three bloody times to win this battle using the French, and he does it first time! Beautiful table full of exquisitely painted miniatures. Thanks for sharing. |
