I'd like to have a couple bears and some deer to populate my Muskets and Tomahawks games. Does anyone know who makes 28mm NA wildlife?

I use O scale model train animals. I made my M&T hidden movement counters by glueing deer onto wooden disks with a sticker on the bottom to tell what it is (unit/dummy).

That's a great idea, Razor! Mind if I "borrow" it?

I recall another gamer using game birds (pheasants?) for dummies -- like "What's scaring these birds such that they fly off?"

If you have a Hobby Lobby there is a pack in their modeling section that will work. Prepainted to.

True O scale runs 1:43 to 1:50 and will likely be too large. S scale at 1:64 might be a better choice. I haven't seen woodland animals in that scale but Ertl produced farm animals. Certain HO figure manufacturers run on the large size so their animals might work. Also check out craft stores and cheap toy stores.

The packs from Hobby Lobby are 1/48, but those and O scale work well enough for 28mm. It's a *big* bear, a *big* deer, a *big* squirrel…
