Same as the levy archers, no Livery copied from any at the time, but I´ve given this lot a "uniform" livery colour. link Cheers paul |

I was under the impression that pikemen in the WotR were exotic foreign mercenaries rather than levies
? (Nice paintjob either way.) |

Thanks. To be honest Adam, I´m not sure..I´m only just getting to grips with this part of the medieval period. They could be foreign Mercs. Was there any Foreign Mercenaries who wore green and blue? Cheers Paul |

eh, just have fun. The Burgundian's wore White and Blue. You could call them germans or some other mercenary band. Good color choices. |

I know of Burgundian handgunner mercenaries in the WOTR and French mercenaries on the Tudor site and also Landsknecht mercenaries were present at the end of the WOTR. Also troops were hired in Ireland. Also examples of small numbers of Spanish, Dutch etc mercenaries are known, but just in small numbers and mostly just adventurers I guess. But if any of these would have been dressed in any kind of uniform or livery I may doubt. For levies there are several sources which refer to livery colours. And surely there will have been levies from any lord or region with up to now unkbown livery colours. The Duke |

The pike was not an "English" weapon in the WOTR, so these should definitely be foreign mercenaries, most likely French. |
