Inspiring as always! Now if only I could drag myself away from WW2

Great looking unit. Despite their truly bad combat record, I've always had a soft spot for this regiment. Love the white fur.

If you don't mind some constructive criticism, this regiment all had the cloth shabraques for rank and file. I can understand why you didn't do that, since manufacturers don't provide them. One other thing – shouldn't the officer and trumpeter also have all white fur?

Again, beautiful regiment!

Thanks Shark 630 ;-)

Bracken: you will come to the Napoleonics: war is more beautiful with plumes and epaulettes ;-)

Widowson: Thanks for you comment. You're right about the shabraque, it's a shame we cannot buy horses separately… If the officer and trumpeter had white fur hats, it would mean they were part of the elite company. But I wanted to depict an officer and a trumpeter from the line with "customized" uniforms, so I painted their hats black.

Very cool, really like those white colpacks. Going to have to look up their combat record now, can't remember what was so bad about it.

They were almost annihilated during the Russian campaign, but they have a good combat record according to this source:
