Does anyone have this? I have never been able to find some good pictures of it. If you could tell me your thoughts on it I would be grateful.

General Montcalm08 Sep 2004 9:33 a.m. PST

Good luck. This is another one of those manufacturers that doesnt want you to buy their product. No info, no pics even if you email them. No response, no reply.

Yes, we make this. No, we are not going to tell you about it. : (

That's a bit harsh innit Montcalm? Nic & Co are one of the more reputable companies out there.

Stuart08 Sep 2004 1:56 p.m. PST

The Compendium Magnificum has a picture, the product is a bunch of assorted wall lenghts all slightly tapering towards the top and some square corner posts so you can make whatever room shape you want. All the walls have large heirogylphics (big word-bad spelling) on them for the Egyptian look.

Eureka and Ground Zero Games have the same problems with thier company...

1) They're really great guys
2) they have access to some kind of Time Warp. i can send something to Australia by priority and it'll take a month, they send minis back and it takes a week.
3) GZG is even faster, Jon must have a telepath working for him.

Can we all agree not to tell Neotacha about these corridors?

Nic Robson08 Sep 2004 3:16 p.m. PST

Lotus Eater,

As Stuart says we have pictures in the Compendium Magnificum of the product, and all the sizes of the wall are on our web site.

Apologies to General Montcalm, if you would like to re-send your request that we didn't reply to, and let me know when it was originally sent, I will reply immediately. We certainly try to answer all e-mails with 24 hours, and I will attempt to discover what happened to the one you sent us. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Too late, I read the thread. Egyptian corridors, hmmm...

Stuart, is the Compendium Magnificum a book, magazine, or website?

mweaver08 Sep 2004 5:01 p.m. PST

Tell the General that the people responsible for sacking the people who didn't answer his email have been sacked.

Cambyses08 Sep 2004 5:40 p.m. PST

Oo-err - What's wrong General Montcalm? You sound a bit depressed... life getting you down?

I suggest you take Mr Robson up on his offer General. Any company can make an occasional mistake, but I know from personal experience that Eureka pride themselves in putting such things right as quickly as possible.

Stuart08 Sep 2004 6:00 p.m. PST

Neotacha, it is the Eureka Catalog and has 1:1 photos of just about all the stuff they carry- well worth the investment.

I cannot say enough good things about Nic and his crew. I find it absolutely amazing that I can get something from Australia faster than I can from Baltimore, MD. I'm in the midwest, so Baltimore has the headstart! If the General's email went to Nic during the Historicon show, it's my fault! I was too busy buying his Samurai's and keeping him busy. I later bought his combat frogs! Very cool!

General Montcalm09 Sep 2004 12:15 a.m. PST

Sorry, just speaking from our own experience of trying to contact Eureka. Let me explain:

Our group recently set up a Yahoo site called Stargate Gamers to promote our interest in wargaming the SG1 series games. Its gone really well, we have 200 members including 13 figure manufacturers and sculptors, 9 scenery manufacturers, 8 rules writers and half a dozen figure painters. 2nd month we hit over 1,000 posts - so there is lots of interest there. We do our own rules, plus conversions for DOW and are working on CR. We store close on Stargate 400 reference and game pics and 50 background / rules docs and assorted iother goodies and have links and info for all companies that produce anything thats useable for the theme.

Obviously Eurekas Chaos Egyptians and corridor system were very interesting to us, so starting back in June this year we sent them emails telling them about the group, asking if we could use a pic of their figures as the front page for the group, asking if we could bulk order the new armoured figures for our group members in the UK and if a discount would be available on ordering 400 figures and if they would be available soon from GZG, and asking for pics of the corridor system, and to give them the results of one of our polls where 27 members volunteered to fund a Eureka 100 club to obtain certain figures, and how we would go about this. Also sent an invite to join the group if it interested them. Most other manufacturers that have joined have made a fair profit out of doing so, and its directly instigated the creation of more figures and scenics for gamers. So everyone is happy.

No response to any of this stuff. In June, July and August of this year. 8 emails in all Nic. Thanks for the response. Maybe there is some kind of email problem? Do you have an active Spam filter of some kind?

Cheers

Monty

Nic Robson09 Sep 2004 12:35 a.m. PST

Dear Monty,

We do have an active Spam filter and I cannot ever recall seeing any e-mail regarding any of the above. Our deep apologies to you and your group. We would be very interested to help you via the 100 Club and also discussing bulk orders.

If you could please send me the e-mail again, with the subject heading Monty from TMP, I will make sure we answer it as soon as we receive it.

Just a reminder to send it to nicr@eurekamin.com.au

I will also look at the spam filter and see if you are blacklisted on it when the new e-mail arrives.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Nic

General Montcalm09 Sep 2004 1:02 a.m. PST

Hi Nic,

Thanks for the response. I'll try sending to you again later this morning and see if it gets through. We never got any bounce messages or anything so presumed the mails actually went somewhere.

We are in the process of building two big scenic settings at the moment - one an Egyptian cityscape, the other an interior of an Egyptian palace, so we are really interested in the corridor system you have.

Cheers
Monty

(Who only gets fed up when he cant buy the stuff he wants : ) )

I love a happy ending...

Nic Robson09 Sep 2004 3:14 p.m. PST

As per my e-mail to Monty this morning, all seems to be working fine and I'm glad we managed to sort all this out.

Thanks, Stuart. Ordered it tonight, along with a ton of stuff I don't really need, but wanted.

Alxbates08 Mar 2007 4:11 a.m. PST

And after all that, no links to the pics? This sounds like a product I might be interested in, if I could see some pictures…
