Not bad
.it does indeed have that "Former Soviet Satellite nation that has now been cast off and is trying to make it on their own and trying to reestablish their own national identity" look to it
What application/software are you using for the design? |

Alcovia has never been a Soviet state. They have maintained a benevolent monarchy since the 18th century. They have been friendly with the USSR and now Russia, however. The APA is the rebel army rising up against the NAA and the crown. Oddly enough, the Alcovian Civil War is a battle of new vs old rather than Communism versus Democracy. The APA opposes the old monarchy, wanting true Democracy, instead of the monarchy that has stood by the people for generations but has run on hard times in past decades (like the rest of the world). I am not sure what application/software is being used but I can ask Colin. -Eli |

Muy cool stuff. Well done flags, they would please most Vexillologists! |

I am trying to get more of an Eastern Euro crown on the flag and maybe try to incorporate the Cossack saber that appears in the older flags.
Sorry for the grainy pics, these are links off another blog of mine and they don't seem to expand well. -Eli |

nice looking flags. wouldn't the rebellious APA flag have less similarity to the kingdom flag than the loyalist NAA? |

The APA are fighting for an Alcovia without the a king. The APA flag removes the trappings of the monarchy while keeping the symbolism core to the people of the nation. The NAA flag was the preexisting flag used by the National Army before the civil war broke out. Both are military banners and not a national flag which is what the first image represents. -Eli |

Those are really outstanding. |

They printed up pretty nicely. I got 9 to a page on the laser printer but they may be too big for mounting on vehicle aerials but may be good for buildings and flag poles. -Eli |

Very cool. Were they once a Portuguese satellite? Their flag is very reminiscent of the Portuguese flag. |

Nope. The colors are drawn from the colors I used in their 18th Century flags. -Eli |
