For those who haven't invested in a surface yet: link Not a fan of the "space station" but I like the space ones. |

They are all nice. But the space station needs a trench. |

Isn't 3x3 a bit small for most space games? Otherwise great looking mats. |

36 by 36 is good for a "small" game. Using more then I would say 5 or so ships it is very limited. I think 6 feet by 6 feet is much better. VR James Mattes |

My coffee table is only about that- so perfect. Just needs hexes 8) |

Pretty sure they are targeting the xwing market, but without saying so. Thus no hexes. -Tim |

vinyl looks ok as a mat material. It's usually a bit to slippery and shiny for my taste. It can also crack if you don't take care of it right. They need to be rolled. |

I was at Hobby lobby today and looking at the 9 inch by 12 inch felt and paper with glitter on black background for ground cover. The felt is 50 cents a sheet and I could mount them on foam about the same size. for about $12.00 USD I could get 12 tiles to do a 3X3 foot table. Pretty cheap and easy to transport.
