Was at the FLGS (Hobbit in Fayetteville N.C.) with the boys. We were looking for Force on Force (Got it!) and my oldest son spotted an F-toys (Japan?) Imperial Shuttle at 1/350 scale. I could not pass it up for $12.00 USD, kind of high but it looked like it might be okay for X-Wing.

Simple kit with only 9 parts to glue on. picked up the last FFG X-Wing he had in stock as well. The size of the shuttle is workable for X-Wing. I did see on one of the Websites some stats for the Shuttle and I think I can figure out movement and use it in a few sceanrios.

I wish F-toys did all the ships in the same scale I could see picking them up and adjusting the game for them as well as other scales such as the Titanium series or other scale models. The others are 1/144 scale. Nice models and I am could see doing the game is several different scales.

One last word on the FLGS. It has been around over 30 or so years they are the main hobby shop for Ft. Bragg and always fun to stop in and talk to. There is several gaming groups that network out of there as well.

Nice pick up, I've been looking for that one myself, I think it would work perfect for the shuttle escort mission..plus some

Looks good!

How does it compare in overall height, and/or length to the fighters, since I have no idea how big a 1/350th scale shuttle is.

There is a nice stat card on the Boardgamergeek website for the shuttle. Check out the "Variants" links, and its in one of the postings there, along with some other vessels.

If I recall correctly, it can move straight, or do easy turns to left and right. Didn't see any speed rating listed for it, so perhaps it is only restricted to one unit per turn (that seems a bit slow to me, but I'm not sure what was intended).

The best site for fan stats for ships is "A few manuevers"

Robert, I had a question for you. I've seen some of your hand built ships, and quite frankly they are fantastic ! I've not been able to trace your work much further, so when you say you use laminate and a file what material (laminate) specifically are you talking about ?

@Vojvoda, A company named Anigrand did the Shuttle Tyderium in 1/144 resin a few years ago along with Slave I and a couple Ties that showed up in the computer games. They pop up on ebay every once in a while but are VERY expensive. I picked one up when they were still being produced along with all the 1/144 FToys Star Wars stuff to do a couple games using the C21 rules. Now that the FFG X-Wing game is out I may try to fiddle with the rules to fit as you have mentioned.

The base of the X-Wing stands are 40mm by 40mm (1 1/2 inches by 1 1/2 inches) the stand for the shuttle is the same frontage 40mm (1 1/2 inches) by 60mm deep ( 2 5/16th inches). The Shuttle is 56mm from nose to stern (2 1/4 inches) wing tip to wing tip in the full down position is 116mm (4 3/8th inches). From the belly to top of vertical wing is 60mm (2 5/16th inches, and from lowest tip of wing to top of the vertical stablizer is 100mm (4 inches).

The cockpit looks right compaired to the other fighters IMHO.

Here is a link to them for $8.86 USD each.

Not familiar with C21 rules. I am very impressed with the simplicity and elegance of the X-Wing game. I want to do it with several different flight levels but keep the same game mechanism. Different scales are also a challenge for me and I plan to adjust the scales accordingly.
