Simon I see those are Foundry I thought they were Essex!

I have about four or five groups of 48 Essex Hoplites (Close out sale from Wargames here in the states) that you are inspiring me to get out and paint.

Nice solid blocks of bronze – great work!

As noted, you can't have too many of them

Simon; those are some great looking Hoplites and bases. Oh yeah, guys with long pointy sticks!

Thanks chaps, I'm a Roman man, at heart, but I do like the odd Greek holiday. One needs a depressingly large number of minis for a hoplite-on-hoplite scrap.

Hi Mike, quite some way to go, yet!

Cheers, Simon

Nice work! Three deep and twelve wide they look very impressive.

How are your rules coming along?

Cheers,
Aaron

Are those decals on the shields? If so, who makes them?
The figures look great, nice work.

Hi Aaron, the rules are essentially written, but I've needed to take a break from playtesting, for a couple of weeks, to sort out some family stuff. I hope to play again in December… luckily I'm still able to paint.

vtsao, the decals are mostly Little Big Man studios, but I used some Veni Vidi Vici, and a few are handpainted (but not by me!).

Looking good Simon as usual, I love that Foundry range still some of the best around I think…..nice mix. What spears are you using ? I like them.

Excellent work Simon. Those ground tufts really set the basing off.

Great job.

What rules system are you using for these troops?

Cheers

Thanks all! HW, I've been developing a set of rules, which I hope to finish playtesting in the New Year. Previously, though, I've used Hail Caesar with these, and also Command and Colours.
