I found the four packs of Speeder bikes from I think West End Games or maybe that was the rules set cant remember which. But anyway I have the kits but no sure how to put them together. Anyone have a picture of one put together? Edit: Yes they are West End Games Here is the kit in the blister: auction VR James Mattes |

I don't own the minis, but I have some of the plastic ones. I think the handlebar-shaped objects in the auction phot0 are actually foot pedals; the angled pieces are the actual right and left handlebars. Presumably the entire thing sits on a post that connects to the bases. Here is a schematic, which might help: link I found that using: link |

I was puzzled too. Then I put the riders in the most likely pose, and then tried to figure what would go where o keep them form falling off. As with all such kits with tiny metal parts, it was a very annoying build. |

There are some assembled and painted examples of them in this photo album on the SWMB yahoo group. These are the Rebel version, but they were the same as the Scout Trooper bike, they just had different riders. Of course you'll have to join to view the pictures. link They are quite a chore to get the handle bars, the 'L' shaped bits, and the foot pads, the 'U' shaped bit to glue on in the correct spot and have them match up with the rider's hands and feet. Once you do, the handlebars don't have a lot of surface area to glue to and will break very easily. The bikes come with a length of very stiff metal rod to glue into the base and the bottom of the speederbike. |

The 'U' bit is the foot rest. Tacky the fig in place to aid in positioning. I would HIGHLY recomend drilling and pinning the handle bars. There are 'nubs' either side of the bike where the handle bars fit, so trim them and drill there. I drilled through most of my bikes and just filed the brass rod flat. They go on similar to steering bars on certain lawnmowers. Again, prolly should tacky the mini in place so you can adjust and glue the handle bars in their proper place. |
