So what different miniatures are missing for full on zombie games in 15mm? As prompted by the other thread.
I thought it would be a good idea to see if we could compile a list between us and if we list anything that someone actually makes in the scale, its going to point us in the right direction. I say 15mm as thats my preferred scale and there are plenty of choices already (mind you, someone could start a 28mm version of this thread!)

Ok, I'll start.

emergency services: Police, fire services, ambulance/paramedics, Nurses and doctors etc.
Actual Zombie casulalty markers (not ones ran over and shot, like theyve been eaten ripped apart etc)
Normal innocent civilians/kids/wheelchairs/pushchairs/men& women screaming etc
Mutant zombies (resi style/left 4 dead monsters)
Zombie dogs

can you add any to this list, or know if any already exist

Rebel Minis does police, normal innocent civilians, and I think they do zombie dogs – not totally sure on that last one. Agree with the other things.

I'd also like to see hunter types and regular people with normal hunting rifles (I mean, not EVERYONE has an AK-47 under their beds), zombie hunters with bow and arrow or crossbow, and more selections of people with regular shotguns.

How about the dismounted bikers that Rebel has said are on the way for the last two years.

abbcampbell19 Nov 2012 9:21 p.m. PST

Would love to see more of all of the above, so no disagreement, but in case it helps, here are a few things on the above list:

Khurasan has some kids in their survivor range.

Rebel has something that, while not specified as such, I use for dismounted motorcycle riders until I find something better. They are called "Post Apoc Raiders"…not to be confused with "Post Apoc RIDERS" which I now see also exist and are going on my shopping list.

I'm looking for:

-- not-zombified plain old normal domestic dogs.

-- Not-zombified plain old normal wildlife…deer, pigs, elk wolves, bears, mountain lions, &c to be hunted for food or to provide mundane non-human post-apoc threats.

-- zombies in nightclothes and hospital gowns…going with the Max Brooks notion of a 24-hour or sometimes longer 'burn' that means lots of folks who catch the virus from a bite or scratch without being slain outright in an attack will die in bed or in the hospital….

-- Second the notion on "normal civvies" with "normal hunting weapons." Ditto hand weapons. Axes, baseball bats, machetes, crowbars, katanas, kukris, even Ren-Faire wall hanger swords (not saying they should count for more than improvised weapons, but… :)

-- Civilian helicopter in 15mm.

-- News Crews

-- Survivors on bicycles

-- Motorcycles/bicycles/horses without riders.

…and in case MBA or similar terrain suppliers are reading…15mm Modern American buildings…convenience store, mobile home, Wal-Mart, &c.

corporalpat19 Nov 2012 9:41 p.m. PST

Ditto the dismounted bikers! Also more variety of motor cycle riders including a trike or two.

ATV riders with or without weapons.

Survivors with a variety of weapons like axes, golf clubs, 2x4s, etc. including a variety of sporting weapons and a figure or three with .22 varmint rifles. Like Sundance says, not everyone has an AK47 under the bed, but a lot of folks have .22s (besides, the Zombie Survival Guide says it is one of the best weapons you can have for zombies).

Also, more variety of zombies couldn't hurt. There is a good selection out there, but you can never have enough zeds. Why do 15mm if you're not going to do hordes?

Kyn ell19 Nov 2012 10:01 p.m. PST

Irregular miniatures do a wide range of animals, including non zombie dogs irregularminiatures.co.uk/15mmRanges/15mmAnimals.htm
they also do a news crew in the riot range (the rioters make good survivors too as they are also armed with improvised weapons, molotovs etc)irregularminiatures.co.uk/15mmRanges/15mmRiot.htm
In the riot range there are also riot cops both on foot and mounted!
I'm pretty sure that peter pig does a news crew as well.

Mutant zombies (Resident Evil and Left 4 Dead)

pzivh43 Supporting Member of TMP20 Nov 2012 4:46 a.m. PST

Re helicpoters. I found the HO scale ones---Matchbox/Hotwheels/Maisto look pretty good for 15mm.

Peter Pig makes a news crew also.

Andoreth20 Nov 2012 5:54 a.m. PST

Peter Pig makes a nice set of three types of normal dogs, and while I like the PP news crew I prefer the Oddzial Osmy near-future news crew since they are wearing flak jackets.

Maxshadow20 Nov 2012 6:05 a.m. PST

Yes normal people with Pistols, Rifles, Shot guns or improvised melee weapons like shovels, baseball bats etc.
Please. :O)And prefer not firing two weapons.

geekygamer20 Nov 2012 6:06 a.m. PST

What I'd like to see:
~ More shotgun armed figures.
~ More in-scale and cheap modern cars and buildings made for 15mm gaming.
~ Hospital gown and naked zombies

Fishbuckle20 Nov 2012 6:45 a.m. PST

Another vote here for 'normal people armed with what they can grab hold off'. I'm currently trying to avoid buying rioters purely so I can get a civilian with a stick of wood… And I'd like my 'starting survivors' not to begin fully tooled up with automatic weapons.

I'd quite like 15mm police cars. Modern cars I've got from cheap HO scale suppliers, but emergency services are a bit trickier.

Finally a 15mm Ash from Evil Dead would go down well with me. Just for the fun of it.

As Dragon Gunner said and noted in my other thread,

TMP link

we still want mutant/special zombies. A couple lumbering hulks, a crouching freak-type, the guy with the crazy-long tongue, the dog zombies, etc.

Nothng wrong with the horde of shamblers! But I like the added edge of something *weird* to fight.

abbcampbell20 Nov 2012 8:11 a.m. PST

@Chris. Ask and ye shall recieve on the police cars:

Fishbuckle20 Nov 2012 8:26 a.m. PST

@abbcampbell

Thanks, although it isn't updating the shipping when I put in my UK address. Wondering if it will be a lot….

abbcampbell20 Nov 2012 8:29 a.m. PST

@Chris. Sorry, no clue there. I'm lucky enough that my friendly local hobby shop carries them on the shelf. :( Perhaps some other distributor will have the same product?

Dragon Gunner20 Nov 2012 9:31 a.m. PST

My experience with the zombie genre is it gets old pretty quick unless you include rage and mutant zombies. The shamblers have no tactics and are predictable.

Kyn ell20 Nov 2012 11:50 a.m. PST

I'm thinking about doing a few mutant zombie sculpts (left 4 dead style) and sending them to 15mm.co.uk, that way at least there will be a few knocking around for everyone to get hold of! I'll make a start tonight on a tank and post my progress here!

Scorpio20 Nov 2012 11:55 a.m. PST

Kyn ell, looking forward to the results.

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP20 Nov 2012 1:29 p.m. PST

There can always be more/ better Police ranges.

Maxshadow20 Nov 2012 3:39 p.m. PST

@Chris For Emergency services I just repainted some of the cheap cars i bought from ebay. 50 for $14. USD No way as nice as the ones in abbcampbells link of course.

Fishbuckle21 Nov 2012 3:32 a.m. PST

@ Dragon Gunner: Nah, that's why you have plenty of survivors and gangs. Humans are always the biggest threat. :)

@ Max: Yeah, I may well end up doing that. Certainly the cheapest option. Did you find lights to fix on the top or make your own?

Personal logo Rebel Minis Sponsoring Member of TMP21 Nov 2012 7:37 a.m. PST

We have the Zombie dogs :)

At the casters are news crew.

We should have the Firemen pack, Hospital Zombies pack done next month.

We are working on another pack of Armed civilians and Dismonted Biker gang(Yes, I know, I know :) )

Alot of our Stuff is here: link

but some of the other moderns can be seen here: link

and we are always accepting ideas :)

Maxshadow21 Nov 2012 9:25 a.m. PST

Hi Chris. I looked around for somthing suitable but in the end there was a bump in front of where the sun roof had been and I just painted the lights in. It gave a good enough effect for me. Have a look, you can see i've been very rough with my paint job. link

Kyn ell21 Nov 2012 3:11 p.m. PST

I have almost finished a "not" tank mutant, and completely done a "not" charger done as well. I'll make a start on a fattie when the tanks done and I'll take some photos later when my kids are settled for the night!

geekygamer22 Nov 2012 4:47 p.m. PST

@Rebel Minis: Yay! I'd love to see more civilians (with shotguns please) and hospital zeds!!!

ETA?

If we are lucky.. middle of Dec :)

republic of tolworth28 Nov 2012 9:16 a.m. PST

Emergency services types always needed, fire, ambulance, council workers, hospital staff etc. Non US police.
Armed civilians with mix of pistols, shotties and weird grabbed hand weapons.

Kyn ell28 Nov 2012 9:43 a.m. PST

I'd like stuff like traffic wardens, security guards and community support officers and lollypop ladies! I too really want some real authentic UK-centric figures like decent cops and emergency services like what you've just said.
I got a load of UK riot police in 15mm from Irregular which is the nearest thing I have seen to a decent representation of our police, so I'm looking to get a riot van or two in the right scale!
It would be good if there were some Eastenders or Corrie soap a-likes, so you could recreate albert square or the rovers in a zombie massacre.

That would be tres bon!

Anyone making 15mm Zombie Crawlers?

Uesugi Kenshin Supporting Member of TMP14 Dec 2012 4:09 p.m. PST

I would like to see a game done where a large amount of riot cops in gear are in formation trying to stop a zombie advance from breaking through their line.

I guess the question would be do they make riot cops in 15mm?

artbraune14 Dec 2012 4:12 p.m. PST

Rebel makes riot police…
link

Kyn ell15 Dec 2012 7:15 p.m. PST

Those riot cops would go great with the irregular miniatures ones I have, methinks I'll be making an order with rebel very soon…
