Manufacturer: Splintered Light
Line: 15/18mm Animals and Creatures
Set: MISC09 Giant Weasels
Base markings: © SLM 07
Release date: 2007
Sculptor: Bob Olley
Date painted: 2011

Painting:

Nothing tricky here. These were fun and quick. I primed in Dupli-color gray and after painting glazed their coats with inks to give them a rich, reddish sheen. The undersides are bright, warm white and I did their eyes basic black with a white glint for that sinister beady-eye look. You can see the legs that aren't touching the ground have some structural support sculpted to suggest grass, but I think it works fine painted gray in my case and can represent dust being thrown up from the dungeon floor.

Oh, and not even going to worry about tmp turning my standard bbcode to gibberish anymore. When tmp gets with the program tmp will get with the program! :)

Well, if you had the bbcode right in the first place… grin

(I'm guessing you're trying to overlap tags, right?)

The code is perfectly legit bbcode and works at every other forum. :) Yes, I link the images back to flickr to comply with their terms of service. Sometimes when I go back to edit the tmp post the code has been "massaged" and is not as it was when I pasted it in. But sometimes it does look the way I posted it. Above some links were massaged and others look the way I posted them, but all display as broken. Anyway, thanks for having a look!

Traditionally, Kobolds do not have cavalry… But these Weasels look big enough to afford a rider. ;-) I bought some Caesar 1/72 Goblin figures: I cut the two spearmen models from their bases to make nice Wolf Riders for my Prince August Wolf models (home cast -- have the wolves, but not the cast riders from the molds -- sold the riders, and the molds, but kept a surplus of Wolves from a Tolkien, "Battle of Five Armies" game, sans riders). Just an idea to spice up your games, and give the Kobolds a leg up, so to speak. Cheers!

Cheers, thanks for the suggestion, Slag. :) The way the rules go the weasels are so much more powerful than the kobold, however, that the kobold would pretty much be dead weight to the weasel. I like to use them like a hidden threat, that you never know when the kobold ranks are going to open up and a weasel emerge.
