The premiere of The Hobbit is a perfect excuse to paint all the Battle of the Five Armies figures once and for all.
I'm planning to finish all armies on time to play the battle the same day the film is opened.

Cool – that's lots of goblins.

I have many left to paint still. But I have the elves, men and dwarves painted ( in double quantities I think)

Looking good. I'm currently painting my second set to have a double-sized battle. I'm in the middle of doing the elves. I'm also painting up the Elven cavalry, a giant, the goblin guard, and hill trolls for some of the other scenarios. I've already done Smaug and some bats.

… and I have 2 unpainted boxes.

Looking good. Maybe I might get mine out again. (some year)

I'm a slow painter and only the goblins took me around 40 hours.

Nice Dwarfs Fred,

I meant 20 hours.

Well since there are now three movies I have two more years to finish up my Splintered Light wood elves and dwarves for the battle. Just wish I could find some decent 15 mm goblins to fight them. No one makes gobs that are dwarf size. Every one makes orcs the size of humans. Plus then you get that ugly plate armor on them.

Good point Doug. Perhaps you could use Pendraken's 10 mm goblins as they are without armour and 10 mm man sized.

Doug, I too thought of Pendraken's goblins as a good fit.

These are some of the command figures, they are 11-12mm tall

Good looking minis, gentlemen. One of these days I'll start painting my BoFA set. At least they're primed.

Been too busy painting WWII. Maybe the first Hobbit movie will get me in the mood.

Oh those goblins look perfect. Next order to them will include some goblins.
