Hi all,

I have been trying to register on the lead adventure forum for ages, what is with the anti spam thing?

You have a box with a number in it, under the box there are a load of other boxes, all with different numbers in, in different places, and the boxes are all different colours. The question asked is, which box looks to be closest?

Now, i dont consider myself totally thick, but none of the boxes underneath look anything like the top box, i have absolutely no idea, its both annoying and frustrating. I dont get it.

Apparently im an automated spambot….

I hate all those "tests". Most of the time I can't even read them (had a helluva time with LAF's test too), and if you have ever tried the audio version on any of them, the triple-dog suck. Good luck is all I can say.

Ive pretty much given up, its driving me nuts.

It seems a little confusing at first, but apparently all you gotta do is to just pick the box that has the same number in about the same place as the sample box.

And then they'll delete your account if you dont post something quickly.
I gave up, when it ttakes so much effort to do something so simple then they obviously dont want casual participants.

It's a great forum, though.

It's a great forum, though.

I'm sure it is. I just wish I could find out for
myself.

I just registered, just pick the the number on the bottom list as is shown in the box above it, it doesnt seem to matter on the position

I just registered and had no problem. Now waiting to be approved. We'll see how long that takes!

I've been lurking for years but have never posted. Some very good painters over there.

You would be amazed at how many hackers try to get into online forum software, hence the need to take measures to prevent the hacking of the forum or admission of spammers.

ok, so i finally got past the code box things, ive put in all my details, username etc….now it says:

Sorry, you are not allowed to register on this forum.hacking_attempt_in_verification_avatar_mod

I give up.

I read this thread and thought "That's preposterous" so I went to register with LAF myself.

Lo and behold, it only took me one attempt. Not sure why you guys are running into such big problems.

phpBB can be confusing if all you ever saw for years was the nice and simple TMP architecture ;)
