… wonder to ask how useful and effective were these launchers in the ACW and if the Rebels also had any unit of them.

Armand,
The Hale rocket launcher was designed by William Hale in 1844 and used by the British. North and South had these in the Civil War, they were not accurate
therefor they were not used that often.

I loved the Johnny Reb I rules for rockets! You turned your back to the table and tossed a die over your shoulder. Where the die landed was were the rockets hit. I think any unit within a certain distance had to take a morale test.
