The "fleet bases" Gale Force 9 produced for the Axis & Allies: War at Sea miniatures are apparently out of production; either the license with WotC/AH expired, or they became unprofitable, or GF9 decided they had enough to deal with with their "Battlefield in a Box" line. Dunno. Either way, I snoozed and lost out on picking up WaS bases for "post-Base Set" ships. There are still "faction packs" from the initial/base set to be found at online retailers and on Ebay, but none of the newer ones. I assume GF9 didn't distribute these to retailers, but don't know that. Does anyone know where I can find some? Have any laying about they want to sell? I would like a few; though I have some of my ships mounted on custom-cut Litko bases, I like GF9's the best, even if they did get pricey in numbers, and took up a lot more table & storage space. Any input would be greatly appreciated! |

There is someone on the War at Sea forumini who manufactures bases virtually identical to the GF9 ones. I haven't bought any myself (could never afford to go down that route) but they have gotten very good notices on the message boards see this post: aaminis.myfastforum.org/about25732.html |
