Good news and bad news from Khurasan on the order fulfillment front
. GOOD NEWS I'm relieved to report that the transaction I was working on in September and early October ended successfully and I've been spending all my spare time whittling away at the backlog and have made excellent progress, which I will continue to dig heavily into this weekend. I can only bring about 25 orders with me into the city every day to ship on my lunch break, so actual shipping is proceeding a little slower than packing, but I'm getting there. BAD NEWS Two pieces here, first, not one, not two, but three of my casters have been slow in restocking some popular pieces and this is throwing a monkey wrench in the rebound to some extent. I'm hoping to have the errant parts in soon though. Much more pressing an issue is the gigantic storm hurtling our way! This may cause power outages which, if they last long enough, may set back packing and shipping, as well as my ability to communicate with you about your order during the power outage period, which could last, they are saying, a week or more. Thanks Sandy! Just when I was digging out
. Those of you who have been customers a while know, i hope, that this is not the way I like to do business. I usually like to turn an order around within 24-48 hours. With the extreme growth of my ranges, and reliance on vendors to supply product, this has become increasingly difficult, and then all it takes is one false move at my day job and everything is REALLY turned upside down. I don't really make any money on Khurasan Miniatures -- I have been investing everything back into new ranges -- so the day job supports me and has to come first I'm afraid. Readers Digest version: we're working on it, but may need to go hide in a bunker for a few days! Luckily we live on top of a ridge and flooding is not a concern, but power outages will be. Stay safe everyone. |

Jon, Good to see you back and to hear that your other business cleared itself up faster than you had originally planned. Always a good thing. Batten down your hatches and ride it out man! -Eli |

I feel your pain with Frankenstorm. Time to hunker down! But on the other hand maybe there won't be school next week! |

Thanks for keeping us informed. Your figs are good enough to wait for, but I assure you this money will get spent sooner or later

No single person has yet been harmed because thier minis order got there later than when they wanted it to. Nor shall anybody be hurt by this in the future. So stay low, avoid the flooding areas and watchout for fallig trees. We will still be here when you get done. Owen |

Jon, Do what you need to do. I am also on a hill, but last year saw the water rise halfway up the hill. The flood was only a couple of feet from my neighbors house. As I indicated, I'm not worried about my order arriving immediately or even within the month of November. Take care of yourself. Looking forward to pictures of the Machupe. |

Hey Jeff, thanks -- I was supposed to have the paintups of the Mapuche already, hope it'll be in a day or two. Thanks to everyone else too--others have many more pressing hurricane concerns than I do. Our biggest worries are falling trees and power outage. Also the occasional freak tornado. I'm hoping its not as bad as they are predicting and I can get the parcels I'm packing this weekend out Monday

Keep your head down and stay safe Jon. I appreciate the effort you put into Khurasan, and am always willing to be patient for your quality models when 'life' intervenes to cause delays. Cheers, Kev |

NO! Your ruined Christmas already! This is terrible, shocking news. This will crash the TMP servers. You've ruined it Jon! Really as one of the fastest in our hobby (shipping, new product, keeping us informed, and customer service) having a few orders delayed is not an issue. Last time you said there would be a delay i got my order in under 48 hours
In fact we demand you take a day or two (maybe three -gasp) off before you burn out and no one hears from you. Of course AFTER the new wave of Karks comes out. ;) |

Good luck dude! Remember; if there's no power, after a few years everyone gets muskets

Update -- no power, likely to be out for a week, limited communications during that time. Apologies for any delays, or lapses in communications |

Wow, I just posted about this! Forgive me for being new here. But seriously, as much as my money is burning a hole in my pocket (it's starting to burn my leg now, ouch!) to place a big order with you, the important thing is that you and your loved ones are safe and you get power and other essential services back on line asap! Take care and I look forward to being a customer of yours for as long as you'll have me! - Matthew |

Thanks, yes as I said in your other thread I have suspending taking new orders until I get power back (could be up to two weeks) and I can account for two large restocks which may have gone missing around the time of the hurricane. I'll post here when the store is reopened. |
khurasanminiatures | 17 Nov 2012 12:40 p.m. PST |
Update--In the hurricane several restocks went missing and this has basically crippled my business. Every day more and more orders were coming in for items that I was completely dry on. That's the main reason the webstore remains shut -- we have power back. Fortunately the last big restock, shipped October 24, has finally arrived. I will be catching up on the few remaining dangling orders and then reopening the store in the next day or two. Ps: a lot of people were less fortunate that we, and some are still out of power or even without a home. One way to help is to text the word REDCROSS to 90999 and you will contribute $10 USD to the relief effort. Every dollar matters. Thanks. |

Sorry to hear that the storm damaged the business; glad you (and the business) are still around. I hope that you are eligible for some of the disaster assistance that I would hope will be going around to keep small businesses afloat during times like this. |
