I believe this tank, or a copy, is in the tank museum at Bovington

If 20mm, Matchbox did a soft plastic Monty in their 8th Army and hard plastic in their Stuart and Monty's caravan sets. I believe these have all been re-released by Revell…..

Yes, the Matcbox/Revell Monty figure would do fine, (it is even wearing the same pullover) but you'd need to arm swap in the arms and binos from another figure.

Is this 15mm?? I'd be inclined to use a Peter Pig crew figure (they do a separate pack) one or two have berets and they are slighter than the BF ones and Monty was a shorty!

Yes 15mm, sorry, I posted in FOW and assumed that as said!

I'll take a look at a hybrid of Pip Roberts and PP crews

BF has a specific "Monty" figure for Early war. Maybe that would be suitable for conversion.

He has a european uniform and peak cap,so probably won't work.

They used to (and may still, I don't know)Have a Monty figure in cords, woolly pully and beret c/w 2 badges which came with the Dorchester ACV which would fit a Grant if you chopped him off at the waist.

Fettster27 Oct 2012 8:26 a.m. PST

Freerangeegg, that's sounds perfect, but they don't seem to do him anymore. Anyone have one they would be prepared to part with?

Fettster29 Oct 2012 1:47 p.m. PST

Continuing this theme, I think I might do one on foot witha Dorchester ACV too. So now I need a suitable foot figure (15mm again).

Any suggestions, Ideally I would like that traditional arms behind back pose of montys with jumper or shirtsleeves. I've looked but can't find anything, I will head swop or sculpt some anyway but would like a good starting point. (And doesn't even have to be WW2 of course, any range that pepole might know)
